He was born in Bremen, Germany. He studied painting, graphic design and art history at the State Academy of Fine Arts. He also lived in Italy, and held positions as art director in Germany and Italy. After he moved to the United States in 1985, he established himself in the art community of the Northeast (living in Solebury Township, Bucks County, PA) and Madison, Connecticut in particular. His paintings can be found in galleries, corporations and private collections throughout Europe and the United States.
